Yesterday, March 25th 2022, a Town Hall Forum was organised by the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) in collaboration with National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) at the Jema Presby Church together with Nana Amposa Gyan, Jemahene; Nana Owusu Pinkra II, Kintampo Krontehene; Mr. Daniel Appiah, District Director of Education, and Nana Kwabena Aborampah Mensah, CDD Programs Manager.
The Town Hall meeting was for stakeholders to reflect on the theme “Strengthening Social Accountability Systems for Improved Service Delivery”.
The program supported by USAID Electoral Support Project seeks to strengthen social accountability systems for improve service delivery among MMDAs.
As a guest speaker, the DCE, Hon. OPoku Nyame stressed on the role the ordinary citizenry must play in the development of our communities. Governance should be seen as a collective responsibility executable by both duty-bearers and citizens.
He appealed to Nananom and other relevant stakeholders to see the need of educating members of their communities on volunteering information and seeing government projects as belonging to the communities and not the ancient notation of government.
