The DCE for Kintampo South, Hon. Opoku Nyame, has distributed 30,000 grafted cashew seedlings to Farmers in the District on the 23rd June,2022. This forms part of the government’s flagship programme; Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD).
The cashew seedlings were distributed to farmers throught the department of agriculture under the Kintampo South District Assembly.
The Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) Programme is a decentralized National Tree Crop Programme to promote rural economic growth and improve household incomes of rural farmers through the provision of certified improved seedlings, extension services, regulatory mechanisms in other to revamp agriculture in Ghana.
I entreated the beneficiaries to plant the seedlings and follow approved agricultural practices for the programme to yield its intended purpose.
